Mr. McKinley “Ken” McRae, 87, of West End, North Carolina, died Saturday, March 6, 2021, at his residence.

For twenty-nine years, Ken was employed at Stanley Furniture Company.  He later started his own business selling landscaping supplies (pine needles) and he was the owner of McRae’s Garage. He retired eight years ago and began to follow his dream of doing exactly what he genuinely enjoyed: working on cars and helping people.  His other favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and watching his favorite baseball team, the Yankees.

Those left with many fond memories of Ken are his wife, Barbara Hussey-McRae; fourteen children, Pamela McGregor (Thomas), Sirlancelee McRae, Veronica Allsbrook, Cathy LaBue (John), Delsie McRae, Kimberly Barner-Bell, McKinley Price McRae (Shavona), Manley Fitzgerald McRae (Marlia), London Archie McRae (Adrainne), Walter Jackson McRae (Johnette), Aaron Lamont McRae, Tony Lorenzo Barner, Vincent Maurice Barner (Anita), and Willie Alton McLaughlin, Jr.; one brother, Roy Edward McRae (Ruth Hazel); one sister, Vendella Bryant; forty-six grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends.

In addition to his late parents, Ken was preceded in death by three of his children, Marilyn Yvette McRae, Scott L. Caddell, and Steven Antoine Barner, and one brother, Ernest H. McRae.
