Mr. Leroy Lockwood Jr., eighty-six years of age, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, passed away early morning of November 27, 2021, at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, North Carolina. After a brief illness, he died of natural causes.

Known to his family and friends as “June”, he chose to be an easy-going individual that spent his time fishing, playing golf, hanging out with his friends, and loved tampering with his vehicles.  He also found lots of joy sharing quality time with his grandchildren and other family members.         

Those left with many fond memories of June, are his children, Charles Lockwood (Mary), of Waxahachie, TX, Ann E. Lockwood of Southern Pines, NC, and Margerite Lockwood of the home; siblings, Elizabeth Mack (Bobby) of Orangeburg, SC and Etta Carter of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Michael Lockwood, Kenneth Lockwood, Terry Edwards, Amy Edwards, Tigilah Henderson, Wykeya Lockwood, Mikelli Lockwood, Everett Lockwood, Nickie Lockwood, Sera Lockwood, Darrien Lockwood, Mikell Lockwood, and DaShawna Lockwood; several great-grandchildren; his stepbrother, Bennie McCallum of Southern Pines, NC; stepsisters, Johnnie Mincer of Irvington, NJ, and Beulah Covington (Herbert) of Hartford, CT; and other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to his wife, Pearl, June was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Geneva Lockwood, his son, Leroy E. Lockwood, and three of his siblings, Thomas Lockwood, Johnny Lockwood, and Ellamae Lockwood.
