Mr. James Charles Gibson, 66, of Rochester, New York, formerly of Jackson Hamlet Community, Aberdeen, North Carolina, died Saturday, May 15, 2021, at his residence.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, daughters, Andrea Balser of Aberdeen, NC, Jamie Reaves (Ronnie) of Aberdeen, and B’Nai Gendleman (Harrison) of Alachua, FL; thirteen grandchildren, Da’Lyne Balser, Kaylia Balser, James Campbell, Alycia Balser, Christian Jones, Breanna Reaves, Talayah Reaves, Shymiek Reaves, Tyrese Reaves, Ganasham Gendleman, Tulasi Robinson, Devi Williams, and Kanai Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Da’Shon Balser, Da’Moni Balser, Bella Balser, Steven Wallace Jr., Cayden Campbell, Kaylianna Campbell, and Z’yhion Campbell; his devoted companion, Mercy Washington of Rochester, NY; stepson, Brighton Murefu (Rumbie) of  Rochester; four sisters, Annie Quick of Hamlet, NC, Edith Morrison of Southern Pines, NC, Carolyn Askins of Timmonsville, SC, and Mildred Webb of Rochester;  three brothers, John York of Hamlet, NC, Roger Gibson and Thomas Gibson of the Jackson Hamlet Community, Aberdeen; a special niece, Katara Mixon of Rochester; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
