Mr. Glenn Chambers
Glenn Franklin Chambers was born January 31, 1956, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He departed this life on March 21, 2022, at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, at the age of sixty-six.
As a 1975 graduate of Hoke County High School, in Raeford, North Carolina, Glenn participated in several sports; something he truly enjoyed. Following high school, he joined the United States Army, serving from 1975 to 1979, and he also served in Reserves capacity for two years, 1979 to 1981.
As an outstanding landscaper, Glenn was employed with Thad Jones Lawn Service for over thirty years, until his sickness prevented him from working any longer. Spending quality time with his family and friends was something Glenn truly cherished. His quiet demeanor painted him as a very good listener; “all ears” with very few words. He was the youngest son of the late James and Ethel Chambers.
Those left with many fond memories of Glenn are, his loving wife, Ruby Verbal Chambers; one son, Derrick McPhaul (Sarah); two daughters, Demetrius Blue (Reginald) and Jasmine Chambers; siblings, Reverend Mary Harris of Raeford, NC, Pastor Alfonzo Chambers (Vern) of Pinehurst, NC, Rufus Chambers (Gloria) of Aberdeen, NC, Cartho Chambers (Melvin), Alice Dockery (Kenny), Michael Chambers, Prudence Chambers McCollum (Joe), and Wanda Chambers, all of Raeford, NC, Warlyene Thompson (Tony) of Tampa, FL, and Deborah Chambers of Wilson, NC; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
